Methodist Children’s Home operates multiple programs on a single campus. Police responses to this campus often do not identify the program they are responding to. All reports plausibly related to the PRTF or Qualified Residential Treatment Program/Group Home (QRTP) have been included here. Where we can be certain the response was to the QRTP it is noted.

Contact with family (Calls and visit schedule): Clients have regularly scheduled phone call opportunities. The number of actual calls depends on the clients wish to utilize these opportunities. In person visitation (assuming no quarantine precautions) is available every weekend and can be scheduled at other times as needed by the family or guardian.

QRTP – Staff reported Juvenile 1 & 2 started an argument and were aggressive towards Juvenile 3 & 4; Nothing physical happened. All juveniles agreed they would try to stop arguing. Officers responded again to facility; Staff stated she caught Juvenile 3 in his room with cigarettes. Juvenile 3 stated he was going to run away due to being stressed out; Juvenile 4 convinced him not to run away.

QRTP – Staff stated 3 residents got into physical disturbance with Resident1. Resident1 had repeatedly called the others derogatory names; 2 of the residents stepped on Resident1s foot and one resident punched Resident1. Resident1 refused medical. Officers advised warrants.

QRTP – Caller advised he and Juvenile got into verbal argument. Caller stated Juvenile punched driver side window of vehicle; threw a rock at vehicle; then from a distance Caller could see Juvenile hitting vehicle but didn’t know what he used to hit the vehicle. Officers observed dents on several parts of vehicle. Another juvenile stated he saw the incident occur. Caller was advised he could seek a warrant for the incident.

QRTP – Staff advised that at approximately 1600 hours, juvenile jumped the fence at facility. Staff advised juvenile had runaway in the past, and might be headed towards his parents house. Juvenile entered into all systems as missing.

QRTP – Staff advised 2 Juveniles had been in a fight around 1815 hours. After de-escalating situation, Juvenile 1 continued to be aggressive towards other juveniles. Juvenile 1 got into another fight with 2 others after they were attempting to break up the fight, no visible injuries though. Juvenile 1 was transported to United Methodist Behavioral in Maumelle.

Staff stated before officers arrival, juvenile spoke about placing a battery in the microwave and had picked up some scissors. Staff advised authorization was received to transport juvenile to Methodist Behavioral Facility in Maumelle; Officer followed transport to facility.

Staff advised that Juvenile assaulted her. Staff stated when she went to take away some explicit material from Juvenile, he got in her face, became upset and began pushing her, and punched her in the chest. Staff stated she didn’t want to press charges; No visible injuries. Juvenile was placed in his room.

QRTP – Passerby contacted Officer stating there was a fight involving 10 children at facility. Upon arrival Officers circulated the area and did not locate a fight.

QRTP – Caller stated that he was advised Juvenile1 took his phone and walked off location. Juvenile1 returned to location while officer was speaking with caller. After Juvenile1 tried to blame it on another juvenile, he finally admitted to taking it and phone was returned to Caller without incident. Caller stated he didn’t want to press charges, but wanted a report made.

QRTP – Staff advised 3 juveniles had been in a physical altercation. Staff stated Juvenile1 punched Juvenile2 in the face and pulled Juvenile3s hair. Officer only noticed injuries to Juvenile1s face & arms. MEMS transported Juvenile1 to Children’s Hospital. Officer advised of warrants.

QRTP – Staff stated while stopping a fight between 2 residents, 1 of them threatened to “slap the shit out of Staff and the other kids”; Staff advised she did not want to seek warrants against the Resident.

Staff stated juvenile walked off from location, Staff had attempted to search with negative results. Officers also searched with negative results. Later that day, Officers made contact with juvenile at fast food location, and transported juvenile back to facility to staff.

Staff advised that prior to officers arrival, Juvenile was being disruptive and kicking the doors making loud noise. As Staff member was escorting Juvenile to his room, Juvenile pushed Staff away causing him to fall and hurt his back. Staff advised to Officers that he was not making a report.

QRTP – Officers made contact with Staff who stated a juvenile had advised Staff that another juvenile had a marijuana cigarette. Staff stated juvenile had thrown the cigarette behind one of the buildings. Juvenile also attempted to fight the juvenile that told Staff, but Staff were able to separate the two. Officers unable to locate cigarette.
