Storytellers: Institutionalized as a Teen

Rooted in Rights, a project of Disability Rights Washington, recently shared the story of Jensen Caraballo, who was institutionalized as a teenager and spent over five years of his life in a nursing home.  And Jensen is not alone; research indicates more than 200,000 non-elderly people with disabilities in the U.S. reside in nursing homes.  To hear Jensen’s story, and also access other great videos in the Rooted in Rights Storytellers series, click here: Storytellers: Institutionalized as a Teenager
