Cerebral Palsy Group is an Online Resource for Cerebral Palsy Information and Support

How much do you know about cerebral palsy (CP)?  Did you know that nearly 8,000 babies and infants are diagnosed with cerebral palsy every year, and that approximately 500,000 Americans have cerebral palsy?  That a number of factors can lead to cerebral palsy, and that insufficient oxygen during delivery was once assumed to be the primary cause of congenital CP, but is now believed to be responsible for only about 10% of the cases?  That there are four types of CP (spastic, athetoid, ataxic, and mixed)?

Perhaps most importantly, do you or your loved ones know where to turn for information and resources when faced with a new diagnosis?  One good online resource for information and resources is the Cerebral Palsy Group.  With categories such as “treatment”, “support”, and “resources”, this website provides a wealth of information.  To check it out, go to:  Cerebral Palsy Group
