DRA works to ensure that young people who live in institutional settings, such as juvenile treatment centers, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, and intermediate care facilities:
- Have access to behavioral health services;
- Have access to a free appropriate public education; and
- Are free from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Our staff monitors different kinds of treatment facilities that serve young people. We have a special kind of access authority that allows us to go inside the facilities, talk to residents without staff present, get access to records and other documents, and investigate what’s really going on.
Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility Database
Disability Rights Arkansas maintains a comprehensive database of documents related to the state’s psychiatric residential treatment facilities (PRTFs). The documents contained in the database are all publicly available and were obtained by DRA by legal request through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
This information is made available to the public in one location on our PRTF Database.
Click here for information on how to file a complaint about a PRTF with the various licensing authorities for those facilities.
