The Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Advisory Council supports Disability Rights Arkansas by working with its staff and Board of Directors to develop priorities for the agency’s PAIMI program. Advisory members oversee the general effectiveness of the program and work with staff to bring about any needed changes.

Who does the council consist of?
- One (1) attorney;
- One (1) mental health professional;
- One (1) provider of mental health services;
- One (1) family member who is the primary caregiver for a minor child or youth (under 18 years old) who has received or is receiving mental health services;
- One (1) individual from the public who is knowledgeable about mental illness and the advocacy of individuals with mental illness and who has demonstrated a substantial commitment to improving health services;
- One (1) Family member of recipient or former recipient of mental health services; and
- Recipients or former recipients of mental health services.
