Resident reported they had hit their elbow and was in pain. The nurse assessed and wrapped the arm and gave prn Tylenol as ordered without any further interventions needed at the time. It was reported that other residents on the unit started saying this resident was faking which triggered the resident who then banged their arm again on purpose due to this. The nurse was concerned upon assessment that the area was dislocated and wanted to make sure there was no further injury. Resident was taken to the ER and diagnosed with a bruised elbow.
