Resident was taken to the ER due to continued complaints of sore throat, nausea, and cramping. Medications had been ordered as nursing already tested for flu, strep, and COVID -19 but the patient was refusing them. Staff was concerned due to the extremeness of patient’s behaviors (crying and yelling) that she was extremely ill. Multiple tests, x-rays, and exams were conducted at the ER and resident was discharged and returned to the facility on 12/27/23 at 2:00 am. She was sent back with a diagnosis of constipation and positive Coronavirus OC43 (this strain is associated with the common cold). Medications were ordered.
