DRA provides education and outreach both individually and in collaboration with other stakeholders. We organize training events and webinars, staff information tables, and participate as presenters at conferences and meetings both in-person and virtually. These outreach/education opportunities:
- Inform individuals with disabilities and the community of Disability Rights Arkansas and the protection and advocacy agency;
- Inform policymakers about how their decisions impact individuals with disabilities;
- Create and provide resources for individuals with disabilities and the community regarding subjects and issues that are not within Disability Rights Arkansas’s priorities and objectives; and
- Ensure that public accommodations and public entities understand and adhere to obligations to individuals with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
DRA trains self-advocates to bring about policy change through the Arkansas Alliance for Disability Advocacy. Learn more here.
We provide training and education in most cases at no charge.
