Staff was notified resident had been using a bendy pencil to self-harm with. Staff were able to retrieve the broken bendy pencil that patient had hidden in her scrub pants. Patient gave up the bendy pencil willingly after some processing with staff. Resident would not report where the pencil came from. Resident will remain on self-harm precautions until improved behaviors.
