Jacqueline Gorton

Jacqueline Gorton joined the staff of Disability Rights Arkansas in October of 2016. She brings decades of experience to her position as advocate, from both a personal and a professional perspective. She is the parent and legal guardian of an adult daughter with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and has advocated tirelessly on her behalf in multiple arenas, including educational, medical, vocational, and social. Jackie came to DRA after a 37-year career working for the Arkansas’s departments of Health and Human Services in areas such as Medicaid eligibility, community-based rural health improvement, investigations, policy writing, and grants and program management. She has served on a number of boards advocating for individuals with disabilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She is married with two grown children and makes Little Rock her home.
