Resident hurt right hand while playing in the gym. Pain and swelling noted. After consultation with APRN, resident was sent to Forrest City Medical Center for assessment and x-ray. Resident was diagnosed with an unspecified sprain of the right wrist and contusion of the right hand. Treatment included elastic bandage and RICE therapy. Resident was sent back to the facility with orders for Ibuprofen 600mg oral tablet every six hours as needed.
