Please allow us to (re)introduce ourselves: who we are – and what we’re about.
These days, we’re sporting a new look! You may notice on our website and in social media, we’ve got a fresh, modern new logo. But this is far from a superficial glow-up. We wanted our new look to communicate more than our name. We wanted to say something about who we are, what we’re about…and why we exist.
This process started nearly a year ago. With the help of our friends at Mangan Holcomb Partners, we started having conversations over many months. We spoke with lots of stakeholders about what was most important about Disability Rights Arkansas. These included past and present staff, board, community partners, and people with disabilities. We asked questions like: What services are of the most value to people with disabilities? What do people most want and need from their protection and advocacy organization? And what values are most important to the people we serve?
Once we had compiled that information, one thing became very clear to us. We wanted a new logo that would better communicate our “WHY”. We do what we do because people with disabilities deserve to live their lives on their own terms. Lives full of dignity and purpose. Lives in which their rights are respected. This is the purpose of all that we do.
We shared all this with the marketing experts at Mangan Holcomb, and they listened. Their creative team went to work, creating a logo and a tagline that would help tell the story of Disability Rights Arkansas. It’s not an easy task to say all that in a single visual representation. But we have to say, they nailed it.
Our new logo is not only fresh and modern. It represents advocacy that centers the lives, hopes and dreams of people with disabilities. The dynamic design features dots that connect one piece to another. And when you think about it, we do a lot of that here. Our work connects individuals to the resources they need to live their lives to the fullest. It connects providers to the disability community so that services are relevant, responsive, and respectful. It connects members of the community through outreach, information and education. And it connects individuals and families to effective public policy change. Change that makes life better not for a few people with disabilities, but for all.
A new tagline accompanies our sharp new look: Dignity. Respect. Advocacy. Every person with a disability deserves these things. It’s our “why”. Everything we do centers around those three elements.
We’re proud of our new look and hope you love it, too! The look may have changed, but our focus remains the same. We provide advocacy that helps people with disabilities live the lives to which they aspire. This fresh new brand only underscores that commitment.
