Early voting is under way for the Arkansas primary election, which will be held on Tuesday, March 3. Arkansans are going to the polls to make their voices heard on whom we want to elect to public office to represent our interests.
It’s important for all of us to participate in the voting process. It’s especially important for people with disabilities to make sure that their concerns are heard and that those who are elected are making those concerns a priority, whether we’re talking about health care, employment and anti-discrimination laws, or any number of issues that affect the civil and human rights of people with disabilities.
Tonight, we’re going to talk about getting out the disability vote: why it’s important, what efforts are being made to ensure that the vote is fully accessible, and what people with disabilities can do if they have trouble exercising their right to vote. Our guests will be DRA’s Christian Adcock, Ally Tomlinson with Community of Champions, and Shawn Camp with the Pulaski County Election Commission. And we’ll be taking your calls.
Join us tonight at 5:00 p.m. on KABF 88.3-FM. And if you miss us live, we’ll publish the recording at https://disabilityrightsar.org/speak-up-arkansas/ later this week.
Hope you’ll tune in!
