The Social Security Administration’s Representative Payment Program provides benefit payment management for beneficiaries who are incapable of managing their Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. A representative payee (or “rep payee”) is appointed, and that person manages the payments on behalf of the beneficiaries. Generally, family or friends serve as payees. When friends or family members are not able to serve as payees, a qualified organization might be the designated rep payee.
Tonight at 5:00 PM on KABF 88.3, we’re going to talk about the Rep Payee program: What you need to know if you’re a representative, what you need to know if you’re a beneficiary, and important information about economic impact payments for beneficiaries.
