COVID-19 and the disability community: TONIGHT on KABF 88.3

KABF 88.3 logo: a black background with a yellow shape of the state of Arkansas. In black lettering, the words KABF FM 88.3, Little Rock, AR, on air since '84, with a radio tower motif in black.

The COVID-19, or coronavirus, pandemic has brought with it some very significant changes to our daily lives. And while health and economic disparities have always been with us, this global pandemic has laid bare many more of those systemic inequities. The disability community, already marginalized in many ways, now faces new challenges in the wake of COVID-19.

Tune in tonight to KABF 88.3 FM tonight at 5 p.m. for a discussion about how COVID-19 is impacting the representative payee (rep payee) program, special education, medical rationing, DRA’s monitoring work in juvenile facilities and psychiatric residential treatment facilities, absentee voting, and more. We’ll discuss what you need to know about the federal stimulus funds, and who to call with questions.

In case you miss us on the air, you can catch the broadcast on our website at www.disabilityrightsar.org/speak-up-arkansas.
