The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) on July 3, 2017 filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order to prohibit defendants (the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity) from collecting voter roll data from state election officials “prior to the completion and public release of a required Privacy Impact Assessment…and prior to the resolution of EPIC’s constitutional privacy claims.” The commission has allegedly directed state election officials to send voter records to an unsecure web site and is proposing to publish partial SSNs that would enable identity theft and financial fraud.
