Epilepsy is a neurological condition which affects the nervous system. Sixty-five million people worldwide have been diagnosed with epilepsy; three million of them in the United States. One in 26 people in the United States will be diagnosed with epilepsy at some point in their lifetime, but in the majority of cases (6 out of 10), the cause is unknown.
