Residents started a verbal altercation with one another and faced each other. Resident1 was antagonizing Resident2 and hit the peer in the face, and they started hitting each other. Staff was able to separate, and Resident1 was restrained for safety and the other resident was escorted off of the unit. The next day Resident1 reported to APRN facial pain, so he received an x-ray of his nose on 12/18/2023 which was negative for fracture. Both residents were placed on precautions to be reassessed in 24 hours.
