Methodist Children’s Home operates multiple programs on a single campus. Police responses to this campus often do not identify the program they are responding to. All reports plausibly related to the PRTF or Qualified Residential Treatment Program/Group Home (QRTP) have been included here. Where we can be certain the response was to the QRTP it is noted.

Contact with family (Calls and visit schedule): Clients have regularly scheduled phone call opportunities. The number of actual calls depends on the clients wish to utilize these opportunities. In person visitation (assuming no quarantine precautions) is available every weekend and can be scheduled at other times as needed by the family or guardian.

QRTP – Staff advised officer that juvenile was acting out and they were afraid he would become physical. Staff advised juvenile spit at him and cussed him out, and juvenile went into the staff office. Juvenile calmed down and went back inside the facility.

QRTP – Staff advised a juvenile was picking up rocks and metal items and throwing them. Upon arrival, officer placed juvenile in patrol vehicle while staff determined new placement for juvenile. Juvenile was transported to acute hospital.

QRTP – Staff stated J1 began causing a disturbance after getting suspended from school. Staff observed J1 threaten J2 & J3, stating he was going to beat their ass and also threatened to kill J2. J1 told officer he was just playing and did not intend to harm peers.

Staff member stated while at work, juvenile became upset and began throwing hygiene items at him for no reason. After juvenile began to throw chairs at him, he restrained juvenile per facility policy. The Child Abuse Hotline was contacted.

QRTP – Staff informed officer that juvenile had been disruptive in the transport van. While at school, juvenile had broken an ink pen and pulled the safety pin out of a fire extinguisher (it was taken away before he could activate it). A facility in Maumelle had a bed ready, and MEMS arrived and transported juvenile to ACH first for evaluation.
