Methodist Children’s Home operates multiple programs on a single campus. Police responses to this campus often do not identify the program they are responding to. All reports plausibly related to the PRTF or Qualified Residential Treatment Program/Group Home (QRTP) have been included here. Where we can be certain the response was to the QRTP it is noted.

Contact with family (Calls and visit schedule): Clients have regularly scheduled phone call opportunities. The number of actual calls depends on the clients wish to utilize these opportunities. In person visitation (assuming no quarantine precautions) is available every weekend and can be scheduled at other times as needed by the family or guardian.

Juvenile returned; No police action needed.

Battery Second Degree
QRTP – Staff advised they were assaulted by Juvenile; Staff stated that Juvenile got mad about something during class and walked out into the hall, and started kicking the base of the classroom doors. Staff stated she asked Juvenile to stop and tried to push Juvenile away from the wall; Juvenile then punched Staff in the eye. Another resident witnessed the incident. Juvenile was charged with battery 2nd and transported to Juvenile Intake for booking.

QRTP – Staff members advised that 2 residents were in a disturbance; While speaking with individuals, Juvenile1 fled from officers. Juvenile1 was taken into custody without incident; Juvenile1 was issued citation and given court date. Officers transported Juvenile1 to Bridgeway Children’s Hospital.

QRTP – Officers were dispatched to facility for a wanted person. Officers located Juvenile upon arrival and transported Juvenile to Juvenile Intake for booking (warrant for probation violation). Staff were aware of the warrant.

QRTP – Staff stated they got a call that Juvenile was not at school; Staff dropped off Juvenile around 1132 hours. Juvenile was entered into system as missing.

QRTP – Staff stated while picking up Juvenile from school, Juvenile got into a disturbance with another student; Juvenile then ran from location. Staff located Juvenile a short time later and returned her to facility.

QRTP – Upon arrival , Officers noticed 3 Juveniles sneaking back on the property. Officers transported Juveniles into building at facility. Staff informed Officers that only 1 Juvenile was still missing. Juvenile that was still missing returned to the facility a short time later.

QRTP – Staff stated Juvenile became upset because she couldn’t have her telephone and her pass was revoked. Staff stated Juvenile began throwing dishes, breaking legs off the dinner tables, and tearing bulletin boards off the wall. Staff also stated Juvenile threatened to cause them bodily harm. Juvenile was transported to Bridgeway facility without incident.

QRTP – Staff reported a missing Juvenile after not locating Juvenile for Counseling around 1330 hours. Officers contacted school who informed Officers that Juvenile was in class and safe.

QRTP – Juvenile 1 and 2 got into verbal and physical altercation about an altercation that transpired between Juvenile 2s boyfriend and Juvenile 1. Staff requested both Juveniles be moved to a different location. Juvenile 2 was transported to a N Little Rock facility and Juvenile 1 to a facility in Conway. Officers advised staff to contact Juvenile 1s caseworker or guardian in reference to seeking warrants.

QRTP – Officers arrived and checked Juveniles bedroom, found they had returned.

QRTP – Officers dispatched to facility; Staff advised that at approximately 1340, Juvenile walked off the property. Later that day, Officers were dispatched again to facility. Staff stated Juvenile had returned earlier but Staff had not reported that to Officers; Juvenile had took food and then ran away again. Around 2145 hours on 4/6/19, Juvenile was located and in custody of ULAR PD for felony theft charges and awaiting transport to Juvenile Detention.

QRTP – Staff stated Resident had a metal rod and was walking around the building looking for someone to strike. A Juvenile had then wrestled the rod away from the Resident. Resident stated he was upset and in fear of his life because another resident had wrapped a shoe string around his neck and tried to choke him. Staff stated both residents would be transported to Methodist Behavioral in Maumelle.

QRTP – Officers spoke with Juvenile who stated he was angry and threw a chair through the front window. MEMS treated Juvenile for minor cuts on his hands. MEMS transported Juvenile to Methodist Behavioral in Maumelle for further treatment.
