Methodist Children’s Home operates multiple programs on a single campus. Police responses to this campus often do not identify the program they are responding to. All reports plausibly related to the PRTF or Qualified Residential Treatment Program/Group Home (QRTP) have been included here. Where we can be certain the response was to the QRTP it is noted.

Contact with family (Calls and visit schedule): Clients have regularly scheduled phone call opportunities. The number of actual calls depends on the clients wish to utilize these opportunities. In person visitation (assuming no quarantine precautions) is available every weekend and can be scheduled at other times as needed by the family or guardian.

Officers were contacted in regards to an assault at the facility; mother reported resident assaulted her daughter, by placing her hand around peers neck in attempt to choke her; staff stated peer instigated the altercation and the residents hands were on peers neck for a few seconds; officers noted no bruising at the time; mother wants to press charges due to resident being five years older and larger than peer. Mother stated she would be withdrawing juvenile from the facility ASAP.

QRTP – Officers responded to facility for an assault that had occurred; staff advised officers that two residents were arguing about an altercation that occurred earlier in the day; resident accused peer of being sexually inappropriate and peer struck resident in the face; resident stated that peer had touching his penis through his clothing; staff reported having previous problems with peers sexual behavior; officer advised staff to contact child abuse hotline.

QRTP – Officers responded to facility involving a sexual assault; two residents stated that a peer had kicked them in the “nuts” and grabbed one of the residents genital area; detective advised officers that incident did not meet sexual assault because there was no gratification; officers notified that resident was being removed from facility.
