Methodist Children’s Home operates multiple programs on a single campus. Police responses to this campus often do not identify the program they are responding to. All reports plausibly related to the PRTF or Qualified Residential Treatment Program/Group Home (QRTP) have been included here. Where we can be certain the response was to the QRTP it is noted.

Contact with family (Calls and visit schedule): Clients have regularly scheduled phone call opportunities. The number of actual calls depends on the clients wish to utilize these opportunities. In person visitation (assuming no quarantine precautions) is available every weekend and can be scheduled at other times as needed by the family or guardian.

Staff reported residents mother being called multiple times by residents peer; peer spoke to mother and left voicemails stating he was going to beat up both of her sons and kill her; mother wants to proceed with charges; peer stated he did not make any threats.

QRTP – Resident reporting debit card stolen and noted $119.08 charges made on card; resident suspects roommate; officers to get a warrant.

Staff reported resident ran up to her in the hallway and punched her in the nose; officers observed blood of staff shirt; resident transported to Methodist Acute.

Officers were contacted in regards to an assault at the facility; mother reported resident assaulted her daughter, by placing her hand around peers neck in attempt to choke her; staff stated peer instigated the altercation and the residents hands were on peers neck for a few seconds; officers noted no bruising at the time; mother wants to press charges due to resident being five years older and larger than peer. Mother stated she would be withdrawing juvenile from the facility ASAP.

QRTP – Staff reported residents being loud and disruptive, trying to knock her phone out of her hand and taking papers out of her hands; staff stated she called her husband to come to the location “just in case”; staff reported this upset residents more; residents calmed before officer arrived.
