Methodist Children’s Home operates multiple programs on a single campus. Police responses to this campus often do not identify the program they are responding to. All reports plausibly related to the PRTF or Qualified Residential Treatment Program/Group Home (QRTP) have been included here. Where we can be certain the response was to the QRTP it is noted.

Contact with family (Calls and visit schedule): Clients have regularly scheduled phone call opportunities. The number of actual calls depends on the clients wish to utilize these opportunities. In person visitation (assuming no quarantine precautions) is available every weekend and can be scheduled at other times as needed by the family or guardian.

QRTP – Staff requested officers assist in transporting resident to an adjacent building due to resident being a flight risk; resident stated he was going to run and “passively” resisted handcuffs being placed; officers “assisted” resident to the ground and placed handcuffs; resident released to staff in adjacent building.

QRTP – Officers responded to facility involving a sexual assault; two residents stated that a peer had kicked them in the “nuts” and grabbed one of the residents genital area; detective advised officers that incident did not meet sexual assault because there was no gratification; officers notified that resident was being removed from facility.

QRTP – Facility requesting officers transport resident to Bridgeway; officer transported resident with out incident, however Bridgeway would not admit resident due to facility not following procedures correctly; resident returned to facility.

Staff reported that resident became aggressive and scratched them when they placed resident in physical restraint; resident charged with battery second degree, given court date of 4/1/2020, and transported to Methodist Behavioral Health.
